"I always thought that sooner or later we would’ve opened a store in Forte dei Marmi and, as per usual, it happened by chance. During a trip there we were offered a beautiful space in Via Carducci 65. It was like furnishing a beach house with all the things we already owned, each piece has a story, a past, nothing has been specifically bought for it. Roberto embroidered “La Pioggia nel Pineto” on old sheets which soon became curtains, we dyed four old carpets blue, transferred over the model of a sailing ship and the rostrum of the sawfish from our Milan Flagship store. We covered the walls with the pages of my personal collection of The Rudder, a nautical magazine printed in America between the 1920s and the 1940s."
